fOur Own Correspondent.] Mr and Mrs Carrington, of Christchurch, are the guests of Mr and Mrs Le Compte, Empire Hotel. ].*• and Mrs Dent, of Christchurch, are visiting their daughter, Mrs G. Mills. Mr J. Carr is on a visit to Reefton. Mrs J. Young, of Christchurch, and Miss Loretta Young are the guests of Mrs G. Ward. Miss J. Rose is on a holiday visit to Dunedin. Mesdamer Olsen and Rossiter, of Hamilton, are visiting the West Coast after an absence of 30 years, and are the guests of Mrs W. Larcombe, senr. Mr and Mrs Fraser have left for Westport, where they will in future reside. Recent visitors to Greymouth were Mesdames Mosley, Campbell, and Larcombe. The Waiuta Women’s.' Institute held a successful “bring and buy” on Saturday, and wish to thank the public for their generous support. A dance was held in the evening. Mr T. Sullivan was M.C. Music was supplied by Mesdames Ramsden, Devescovi, Robertson and Mr Fulsham. The Women’s Guild held a social c'/ening last Thursday to farewell one of their members, Mrs Fraser. Mrs Wynne (president) presented the guest with a silver butter dish. The evening was spent in games and musical items. Competition winners were Mesdames Fraser and Elgin, and Miss Colleen Connors. Mrs Fraser was also presented with ' an electric toaster from the Sunday School children, by -Miss Lois Dobbin and Miss Janet Lynes.

Mrs W. Harris has received advice that her son, Flight Lieutenant Harris, will arrive in Auckland from England on March 22. Mr G. P. Hutton has left for Otago Univers'ty, where he will be engaged in writing a thesis on metallurgy. Mr and Mrs W. Hunt, of Christchurch, and Mr and Mrs Shore are guests at the Empire Hotel. The annual festival of the Anglican Church will be held at 6.30 p.m. on March 30.
