Finally To-day: “I’ll Be Your Sweetheart,” with Margaret Lockwood, and Michael Rennie. Commencing To-morrow: “To Each His Own,” starring Olivia De Havilland, John Lund, Virginia Welles. Boasting all the requisites of a once-in-a-blue moon hit—a stirring story, a cast of fool-proof performers, and some of Hollywood’s outstanding technicians — Paramount’s “To Each His Own,” is a great film. It is the story of a girl who lives a lifetime in the few hours she has in which to meet and fall in love with a flying hero of World War I. It tells of anguish and sacrifices when she gives up a son born of that, love to relieve him of the stigma of his illicit birth. In a heart-tearing finale mother and grown son meet again in a scene fraught with potent dramatic possibilities. Olivia De Havilland turns in the performance of her life winning the Academy Award for the best actress of the 'year. John Lund, acclaimed recently by New York critics for his work in the Broadway ’ hit, “The Hasty Heart,” plays the dual role of Jody’s lover and son, and has assured himself of film stardom. Other well known and capable performers in the supporting cast are Mary Anderson, Phillip Terry, Roland Culver, and Bill Goodwin.
