MISSING NELSON PLANE
MORE WRECKAGE FOUND NELSON, Nov. 18. The search for the Tiger Moth plane which went missing in the Takaka district when flown by Max Healh on Saturday afternoon has now been concentrated on the coastline of Golden Bay, near Separation Point, where portion of a plane was found on Sunday afternoon. A search party landed on the coast from a launch yesterday and found portion of a plane wing at Whariwharangi Bay, on the Takaka side of Separation Point. The wreckage consisted of splintered pieces of wing and one piece of a wing rib, about four feet long. It has been identified as part of the missing plane.
On account of the isolation of that part of the coast, the launch party was unable to report until late in the afternoon. Before dark the Aero Club’s pilot-instructor, Mr Reid, flew from Nelson to make a further search of that area, but without result.
A land party under the police has gone to Whariwharangi Bay to-day.
