A very large assemblage is expected to-morrow at St. Patrick’s Church, on the occasion of the investiture of the Right Rev. Monsignor James Long (Administralor of the Greymouth Parish) with the insignia of Domestic Frelate, to which rank he has been raised by His Holiness Pope Pius XII.. The ceremony, which will be conducted by the Most Rev. Dr. P. F. Lyons, Bishop of Christchurch, will precede the celebration of Solemn High Mass at 10 a.m. Among those present will be many visiting clergy who have formerly been associated with Monsignor Long, as well ao many visiting members of the laity from various parts of the West Coast

To-morrow afternoon Monsignor Long, with the Bishop and the clergy, will meet the children of the parish schools at a gathering in St. Columba Hall, where he also will, in the evening, be the guest of the congregation, the members of which will take the opportunity of extending hearty congratulations to their pastor upon the honour which the Pope has conferred on him. There will be a concert programme. and those present will be treated to supper by the ladies of the congregation. Most Rev. Bishop Lyons arrives here by car from Christchurch this evening. Among the clergy who will be present at St. Patrick’s Church for to-morrow’s ceremony will be Monsignor J. Kennedy, Rev. Dr. Harrison. Rev. Fathers T. O’Regan, P. Madden. A. Gregory, D. Lordan, J. Holohan. P. Timoney, W. O’Mahoney. J. Keane (all of Canterbury), E. Phelan (Westport), J. Finerty and D. O’Sullivan (Hokitika), J. Fletcher and J. Kirby (Reeftoil), J. Quinn (Ahaura), D. Healy (Ross), S. O’Brien (Kumara), S. O’Gorman (South Westland), P. Foley (Runanga).
