[Our Own Correspondent!. Miss Jones has left on a visit to Timaru. Mr iB, Lynsky is leaving next week to visit the Blue River. Mr T. Cron is on a visit to Christchurch. Mr T. Aldridge returned on Sunday after visiting Christchurch. Mr Jack Robertson has taken up a position here, driving for the N.Z. Road Services. The Harihari School closed last Friday for second term holidays. A Rugby match was played at Harihari on Saturday between Star and Pirates. The game ended in a draw, each side scoring five’ points. The referee was Mr G. Robertson. There were some small catches of whitebait netted at the mouth of the Big Wanganui River last week. One woman in that locality has netted £2O for her. week's catches. The funeral took place at the local cemetery of Mrs C. Shearer, one of the oldest, residents of the district, on Wednesday afternoon. There was a large attendance of friends and relatives. and over fifty cars followed the cortege. The funeral left the residence of the deceased’s daughter, Mrs T. Ferguson, following a short service at the Church of England. Many letters and telegrams of sympathy were received bv the family, and many floral tributes laid on the grave paid a tribute to the esteem in which the late Mrs Shearer was held. Rev. Bathurst conducted the services at the church and at the graveside.
