STOCKTON NOTES
(Our Own Correspondent) Miss A. Evans left on Saturday to spend the term holidays in Christchurch. , ci Mr. and Mrs. J. Wilson left on Wednesday for Wellington, where they will 'in future reside. Mr. Wilson had, with the exception of a brief period, been a resident of the township for more than twenty years. Best wishes of the residents of Stockton will be extended to Mr. and Mrs. Wilson for their future happiness in their new environment. The Methodist Women’s Guild held a social evening in the church recently to farewell one of its members, Mrs. J. Wilson, who has left to. reside in Wellington. Mrs. W. Parfitt, on behalf of the members of the guild, with a neat little speech, presented Mrs. Wilson with gifts for her husband and herself as a token of the esteem in which they had been held. Mrs. Wilson suitably replied. A. dainty supper was served. Mr. J. Annan has returned from a a visit to Nelson. Mesdames G. Gilbert and L. Currie are visitors to Wellington. The residence recently occupied by Mr and Mrs J. Wilson has been purchased by Mr and. Mrs A. Murray.. On Monday night a presentation was made to Mr. J. Wilson in the Stockton School by the members of the Deputies’ Union. Mr. G. Gilbert, on behalf of the deputies, presented Mr. Wilson with a fountain pen and a shaving outfit. Mr. Wilson suitably replied. Songs were rendered by Messrs. D. P. Rees and C. Martin. Mr. A Prosser supplied the music. Supper was served and a very happy, evening ended with community singing, etc. Mr. T. Berdinner, of Christchurch Training College and" Miss C'. Berdinner,., of Karamea, are spending term holidays with there parents, Mr. and Mrs. M. Berdinner. Mrs. S. Lowery and family, of Nelson, are spending a holiday with Mr. and Mrs. J. Fitzsimmons. Mr. and Mrs. L. Kremrner and family are spending a fortnight s holiday in Christchurch. Mrs. C. Steele, accompanied by Mrs. J. Fleming, of Granity, left on Saturday on a brief visit to Christchurch. Mr D Kelly, of Blackball, has been a visitor and 'left on return on TuesdaMaster J. McEwan, of St. Andrew’s College Christchurch, is spending the term holidays with his parents, Mi. and Mrs. H. McEwan.
