WAITAHU CLUB In the semi-finals for the Brewery Cup played on the Waitahu Links at the week-end W. J. Humphries and L E. Morgan beat C. D. Doyle and F. Watts 3 and 2; D. E. McVicar and F. Archer beat W. J. August and P. J. Gallagher 2 and 1. Tn'the semi-final for the Spoon, A. Turner and G. Turner beat A.' 0. Stanley and W. Pennington 3 and 2. At a recent meeting of the committee it was decided to hold the annual Inangahua Open Tournament on September 22 and 23. Mr. W. Pennington has been appointed to fill a vancancy on the management committee. The annual golf tournament of West Coast Returned Servicemen will be held at the Kawatiri links, Westport, on September 15 and 16, and it is expected that there will bea large number’ of entries from Greymouth and Hokitika, GREY CLUB GAMES. Saturday: A flag match will be played at Kaiata course, members to arrange their own partners and play in pairs from the 10th tee. Final Four Horsemen Cup: Woodhouse v. Duncan. August mid-monthly medal match (players to arrange own partners). Sunday: C Division medal match, draw as published last week. The following will play in the 2nd round o f bogey competition (start at No. 10 tee): Mrs McCarthy and Miss Robertson; Mrs Batty and Miss McKnight; Mrs McKay and Miss Hambleton; Miss Deere and Mrs Dowell; Miss Reid and Mrs Davis; Mrs Hannan and scorer.
