POST-WAR TRAVEL
PLANES TO REPLACE SHIPS. (Rec. 9.5). LONDON, November 20. The Daily Mail says: One of Britain’s most famous shipping companies is planning to scrap' first-class accommodation in its future ships, as it believes that after the war those passengers who formerly travelled first-class will want to fly. This company’s surface ships will cater in future almost entirely for cargo, while limited passenger accommodation will be available at relatively low rates, mainly for people who prefer sea travel.
