P.A. AUCKLAND. May 1. For four days a Union Comp collier which-was scheduled to je last Thursday night to load a ca g of mucTi-needed coal at Westport c been idle at Auckland. Her ere were paid off last weex. No , 11 crew has yet been signed on to - place the men who were paid off Friday. The men had refused to sail on the previous day, the reason for their action being that the captain would not agree to their demand that they be provided with patent cereal for breakfast. It is expected that the dispute on the collier will be discussed at ’the monthly stop-work meeting of the Seamen’s Union, tomorrow. -
