BLAKETOWN ASSOCIATION -MEETS.

i There was an attendance of 46 members at the monthly meeting last evening of the Blaketown Home and School Association. Mr. L. J. Shuker presided.

The main business discussed was the Winter Show. It was reported that 3000 schedules had been printed, permission had bedn given for an art union, and a programme of advertising was planned. It was decided to conduct an open waltzing competition on the stage in front of the stand for which a prize of £5 was tentatively agreed on. It was stated that a party of Maoris from Arahura had signified their willing; ness to give a display of Maori poi dances, and hakas, and a programme of songs. A wheelbarrow derby around the track for a prize of £iu was arranged.
