WELLINGTON, June 9.

The Prime Minister announced that Hon. W. Perry, M.L.C., has been recommended to,the Governor-General for appointment as Minister of the Armed Forces'and War Co-ordina-tion, a position formerly held by the late Mr. Coates. Hon. Mr. Perry is, a native of the West Coast.

N.Z.R.S.A. Approval

OF MR. PERRY’S APPOINTMENT,

P.A. WELLINGTON, June 10. The Dominion Executive of the Committee' of the N.Z.R.S.A. has issued the following statement: Hon. W. Perry discussed the matter of his appointment with the Executive, who have unanimously endorsed his action in accepting the responsibilities of the high Office to which he has been called in the interest of the country,. The Executive has unanimously requested Hon. Mr. Perry to continue in office as President of the R.S.A. until consideration could be given to tne whole matter, and that, in the meantime, a chairman of -the Executive Committee be appointed to relieve the President of that duty. NEW MINISTER SWORN IN. P.A. WELLINGTON, June 10. His Excellency the Governor-Gen-eral received the Prime Minister, Mr. Fraser, this afternoon. Later the Hon. W. Perry M.u.C. was sworn in, by, His Excellency, as a member of the Executive Council.
