EGGS AND ONIONS AFFECTED

P.A. WELLINGTON, March 25. A price order, gazetted to-night provides for seasonal increases in the prices of eggs in various districts in line with increases which became effective, area by area, during the corresponding period last year. Another price order issued to-night covers the main crop of onions and fixes the maximum prices chargeable .'by growers, and the margins of profit allowable for distributors, wholesalers and retailers. The maximum prices chargeable bv growers range from £l2 a ton in March and April to £3O in November. The retail prices range from 2§d a lb in March and April to 5Jd a lb in November. These are qualified by quantity concessions for purchases of 5 lbs, 8 lbs, and over.
