fOur Own Correspondent.] HOKITIKA, Jan. 21. At the Magistrate’s Court, Gordon Bertram Saunders was charged with driving a truck and trailer in such a way as the trailer to contact with a motor-car driven by L. Tinnetti. The Magistrate said he believed the evidence of Tinnetti and defendant was fined £1 and costs 23s 4d. Miss Joan Nalder, daughter of Captain A. M. Nalder and Mrs Nalder, of Wellington, former residents of Hoiktika, has received a commission in the Women’s Auxiliary of the Australian Air Force. Miss Nalder had been attached to the School Dental Clinic at Waimate and holds a diploma of Dentistry from the New Zealand Dental College. She served with the Women’s Air Force in Australia for ten months as a dental orderly, and was the first from this section to take the officers’ training course. She left New Zealand in December, 1941 for England, but war conditions forced her to remain in Australia, and she joined the. Women’s Australian Air Force. She holds the rank of Air Section Officer.
