WEDDING
BURRIDGE—SIMPSON. The Church of St. David. Colombo Street, Beckenham, Christchurch, was the scene of a most attractive wedding recently when Ida 1 Mary, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. Simpson, of Currihia, Christchurch, was married to John Hubert Walter, only son of the late Mr. and Mrs. H. W. Burridge, of Napier, and grandson of Mr. and Mrs. A. G. Wood, of Kumara. The Rev. J. McLachlan was the officiating clergyman. The Church was decorated by friends of the bride, who was given away by her father. She wore a .graceful gown of magnolia satin. Her veil was surmounted by a petalled satin halo and she carried a sheaf of white lillies.
Miss' Daphne Hahn was bridesmaid. She wore a charming frock of delphinium blue georgette l , the head dress being a heart shaped halo of the same material as ner frock, and carried a shower bouquet of pink carnations and gladioli. Mr. John McCauseland, of' Dunedin, cousin of the bridegroom, acted as best man.
'Xs the couple were leaving the Church, the bride was presented with a lucky horse shoe. The reception was held at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Desmond, Barrington Street, Spreydon, where the guests were received by Mrs. Simpson and Mrs. S. McCauseland. The usual toasts were honoured. Mr. and Mrs. Burrklge were the recipients of many congratulatory messages and the hearty good wishes of numerous friends. They will make their future home in Kumara.
