N.Z. AIRMEN

“PINCHING" CANADA’S GIRLS. P.A. WELLINGTON, October G. “The only trouble we find with your New Zealand airmen is that they are taking our prettiest girls,” said the Canadian Trade Commissioner to Australia, Lieutenant-Col-onel Cosgrave, who is visiting New Zealand after a vacation in Canada. “The behaviour of the New Zealanders is of a particularly high standard. They are in the fullest sense ambassadors of the Dominion. The people have taken, to them, and I am sure that some of them will be returning to Canada after the war. Some of the cities complain that they do not get enough opportunities of entertaining New Zealanders.” Lieut. Colonel Cosgrave said that the outstanding feature of the New Zealand airmen was the high standard of their training; before reaching Canada. They and the Australians were alwavs in the top bracket.
