PETROL FRAUDS
A CLEVER CONSPIRACY. (Rec. 1.10). MELBOURNE, July 18. Arising out of the octroi ration ticket forgeries (as cabled on Tuesday). George Stewart, aged 29, .was senten > ced to four months’ imprisonment on each of two charges of uttering forged petrol ration tickets. The Magistrate said the frauds were the work of a mastermind, and that Stewart was only one of a number of conspirators in a most ingenious crime. Juniors will play their first game in the J’unior Competition, being matched with Marist. Kumara will play Rapahoe. at Kumara. Fourth grade games Avill be played at Runanga and Wingham Park.
