BRIDAL PAIR

FOR CLIPPER TRIP First N.Z, Reservation (.Per Press Association] AUCKLAND, July 30. The first honeymoon reservation on the Pan-American Clipper out of Auckland has been made for the flying boat leaving for San Francisco on August 17. The couple, who will be married at St. Mary’s Cathedral, on Saturday, August 10, are Miss Cathella Holmes, daughter of the late Captain R. G. Holmes and Mrs. R. Holmes, of Parnell, and Mr. Franklin Hull, chief mechanic at the Auckland base of t’ne Pan-American Airways. Miss Holmes has been to San Francisco twice before, once under sail in 1922 in the old barque “Manurewa,” of whicn her father was master, and recently by steamer. She hopes to be the first woman to fly from Auckland ro San Francisco. Mrs. Gatty, wife or Mr. Harold Gatty, New Zealand representative of the Pan-American Airways, pioneered th e route from San Francisco to Auckland for women.

Recently stationed at the Auckland base for nearly a year, Mr.'Hull is an American citizen. He has been transferred to San Francisco, and ne expect s to work there for a while before being transferred again to another base. Mr. Hull and Miss Holmes met in Auckland. The bridal suite in the clipper has been dismantled, but the couple said that, even if it had been available, they would not have tauten it.
