ITALY’S HARVESTS GOOD
Food Restriction FOR RESTAURANTS. [Aus. & N.Z. Cable Assn.l (Received July 26, 8 p.m.) ROME, July 26. Italy has introduced a restriction on the quantity of bread to be served in restaurants. It is announced that, beef, veal, pork and mutton are not to be available on Tuesdays, but only rabbits or entrails. Beef, veal, pork and mutton can be eaten on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. The Italian Ministry of Agriculture reports that Italy’s crops of corn, rice, potatoes and beans all promise to yield exceptionally favourable harvests. ITALIAN WHEAT CROP. ROME, July 25. It is officially stated that the wheat crop is estimated at 73,000,000 quintals, which is 7,700,000 below the average for the past three years.
