Appears Unlikely LAust. & N.Z. Cable Assn.] LONDON, May 18. The Australian Associated Press understands that the Anglo-American trade negotiations are in jeopardy. New Zealand recent mutton and lamb supplies have been heavy, but tho Commonwealth’s have not been excessive, for which reason the future regulation of marketing is not likely to affect normal exports. AUSTRALIA’S LOSS OF TRADE. CANBERRA, May 19. The results of the new trade treaty made with Canada, last September, are becoming progressively more disappointing. ANGLO-IRISH AGREEMENT. RUGBY, May 18. It has been agreed that the BritishEire trade agreement shall come into force to-morrow. WOOL INDUSTRY CENSUS. LONDON. May 18. In view of the wool industry being a national service in an emergency the Government has decided to take a census' of all raw wool tops and machinery in the woollen and worsted industries in Britain, following the leaders of the industry response to the Board of Trade enquiry, intimating that they are unable to say whether the existing machinery and stocks of wool tops are adequate in an average time to meet the Government and civil needs, in the event of an emergency.

The census forms are being sent out on May 28. It is stated that there is no reason to believe that the Government is contemplating wool purchases.
