[Our Own Correspondent]. Mrs A. Moore, who has been on an extended holiday to Invercargill, returned to Dobson on Saturday evening. Mrs Griffen, of. Wellington, a granddaughter of the late Mr Frank McParland, the first Mayor of Brunner, was a visitor to Wallsend on Saturday evening, and attended the farewell social to the two oldest Brunner residents, Mr and Mrs Hugh O’Donnell, Kiwi, who have left to reside in Hokitika.

The Brunner miners’ and combined schools picnic was held at Hokitika on Sunday, 450 making the trip. Heavy rain marred the outing till “2 o’clock, after which the ' weather cleared and a pleasant afternoon was spent. Following are the results of the sporting events: —Around the Square (boys)' M.
