CANADA’S DEFENCE
ON PACIFIC COAST. TORONTO, December 14. The Defence Minister (Mr Mackenzie), in a speech at the Military Institute, outlined the Government’s revised plans for fortification on the Pacific and Atlantic coasts. “At present we are concentrating on the Pacific coast, for strategic reasons that all will appreciate. The construction of new fortifications at Esquimale, Vancouver, and York Island is under way,” he said.
