DAFFODIL SHOW

St. John’s Church ATTRACTIVE DISPLAY. An unusually attractive display of daffodils and choice spring flowers was seen at St. John’s Annual Flower Show, held yesterday. The entries far exceeded those of last year, and there was keen competition z in all sections. The judge of the flowers, Mr. R. Cooper, said that the standard was exceptionally high and better than he had seen at any previous display by the Society. Rev, H. R. Fell opened the Show, congratulating the exhibitors on their displays and expregsing thanks to those who had helped to make the snow a success, mentioning particularly the energetic Secretary, Mrs. O. McLean. The Show continued last evening and record business was transacted. The judges were—Decorative Sections: Mrs. A. Wallis and Miss D. Broad. Daffodils and Cut Flowers: Mr. R. Cooper. Domestic: Mr. P. Blanchfield, Senr. For most points in the section for Cut Flowers, Mrs. F. M. Dennehy and Miss J. Craig, tied with 17 points each. Mrs. G. Kear, with 19 points, was the winner of the Decorative Section, Miss J. Craig being runner-up with 13 points. Mrs. N. Burn, won the Daffodil Cup with 30 points, Miss Craig being the runner-up with 17 points. Miss M. Craig, was the winner of the Domestic Section with 15 points.

The various selling stalls were well patronised, and were under the supervision of the following:— Sweets: Mrs. H. Buchanan and Miss Bennie. Cakes: Mrs. J. P. Forbes, Mrs. P. J. McLean, Miss J. Hambleton. Work: Mrs. A. Paterson, Mrs. Woodhouse and Mrs. C. Rose. Produce: Mrs. G. Wilson. Decorative: Miss A. Clements. Cut Blooms: Mrs. W. Steer. Tea Rooms: Mrs. T. Learmont, Mrs. J.
