The boarding round the garden plots near the main entrance of the school requires replacing. It was decided to request the Education Board to supply the necessary clocks. The headmaster said that the attendance was better than during last term, but there was a good deal of sickness amongst the small children. The chairman said that application was being made for a fresh grant to complete the school grounds. It was decided to write to the Public Works Department on the matter. The visiting committee reported that everything was in order at the Main School. At Blaketown, the main trouble was large pools of water lying in the playground. It was decided to write to the Education Board asking that new conveniences be erected at Blaketown. On Mr Herring’s motion, it was decided to ask the Education Board to clean the walls or paint the interior of the Blaketown School and gymnasium. The necessity of a shelter shed at Blaketown was brought forward by Mr Sheard, who said that there was
no provision for the children in wet weather. It was decided to request the Board to erect a suitable shed. It was agreed to permit the Blaketown first assistant to send a questionnaire to parents to ascertain if they wished to have the present lunch hour altered.
