Fraudulent Sydney Co. N.Z. AFFORESTATION INTERESTS [Aust. & N.Z. Cable Assn.] SYDNEY, August 18. Mr Justice Long Innes, in the Equity » Court, to-day, ordered the compulsory winding-up of Hodgsons Investments Limited, which perpetrated extensive frauds. The managing. director was convicted recently and sentenced for conspiracy. Hodgsons Investments Limited which purported to have afforestation interests in New Zealand, had negotiations with Pacific Forests Limited, about the purchase of shares, which brought in £35,000. Its funds in various banks, however, amounted to only £lOOO. FORGERY AND BURGLARY CASES. WELLINGTON, August 19. Further prisoners were sentenced by Chief Justice Myers. On three charges of forgery and three of uttering, Robert Raverty, aged 30, was ordered to come up for sentence if called within twelve months. Bernard Eric Rothwell, aged 31, for breaking and entering by day with intent to steal, was sentenced to nine months hard labour. Charles James Robert Scott, aged 38, farmer, on eight charges of forgery and eight of uttering, and one of forgery and uttering, was sentenced to twelve months reformative treatment.
