The men’s hockey championship of Australia began at the Sports Ground in Sydney to-day. There was ideal weather. ~ Ten teams, representing al Lol the States and New Zealand, are taking The visiting teams, including the New Zealanders, were given a civic reception this morning. New Zealand’s first game will be against New South Wales to-morrow. To-day’s matches resulted: — Tasmania drew with Western Australia 2/2. . Queensland defeated Victoria 4/1. New South Wales defeated South Australia 4/0.
