GROCERS’ DISPUTE. 1 Per Press Association]. NEW PLYMOUTH, August 6. The Taranaki grocers’ dispute was before the Arbitration Court to-day, and it was adjourned to Auckland. No agreement was reached on the hours of work, wages, holidays, rates for casual labour and closing of shops. There were over 200 employers cited.
Musician’s Award JOCKEY CLUBS AND DANCE HALLS. EXCLUDED FROM PARTIES. NEW PLYMOUTH,' August 6. Ruling that dance hall committees and jockey clubs were not employers of performing musicians, the Arbitration Court struck them out as parties to an award which the Court made, as from a Conciliation agreement, between Taranaki musicians and eight dance band leaders.
