Count Ciano’s interview with the | correspondent of an American news ‘K ! agency, in which he declared there were no fundamental obstacles to an Anglo-Italian understanding, which provide a new stabilising element for the maintenance of peace in Europe, created a deep impression, not because it contained revelations but because it is the first public official admission of improved relations. Dr. Gayda adopts a changed tone towards Britain, and says the causes of past divergencies have been only of a psychological nature.
