FIRE IN LIBRARY. • — 1 I Per Press Association], WELLINGTON, August 4. Fire which broke out in the Labour * Department’s library about 7 o’clock ® to-night practically destroyed that section of the department’s offices on the second floor of the Hope, Gib- Jbons building, and destroyed a number of files and records, but these are believed to be unimportant. The seat of the fire appeared to be in a corridor next the library. Some papers had evidently been smouldering for some time and burned through \ the partition, igniting shelves of

books in the library.
