The weather has again changed with heavy rain, and snow on the high country. ' It is only a matter of another week or so, if the present weather con dittons continue, when it will put aa end to the milking season. The new Post Office here should be ready for operating by the end of the present week. The annual Sports Meeting here will be held on June, sth. About forty men are expected here shortly to be employed by the Public Works Department on the widening of the main highway from Petersen’s corner to the Little Wanganui R.ver. it is the intention of the Department -o tar.seal this section at a la.er date. The men to be employed will probably go under canvas here. Messrs McCurdie Bros., of Sheffie’d, Canterbury, have taken over the managemerit of Duart farm here. The annual meeting of the local Spoits Club was held at the Public Hall on Thursday night last. The credit balance from last season is £2O, wh’ch is very satisfactory indeed. Mr E. Herlihy is at present on a visit to Greymouth and Hokitika. Mr A. Gilmour and family, who have been employed' at the Duart farm for the past eighteen months, have left, for Christchuich
Mr P. J. McLean, of Greymouth, pa’d a brief visit here at the week-end.
Ales rs G. Searle and R- Adamson paid a visit to Hokitika on Friday to give evidence at the on the, late Albert Simms.
