Lake Erie Ship Capsizes (Received October 'l9, 8.45 p.m.) CLEVELAND, October 18. Eighteen members of the crew, and one woman passewger, perished last night when the Canadian shipj, Sano Alerehant. a sand-sucker, rolled over in a fifty-miles-an-hour gale which swept Lake Eric, fourteen mi,les north-west of Cleveland. Many of the sailors clung desperately to tW)O eapsiized lifeboats for hours before they slipped off and were drowned. Two freighters, en route for, Lake Erie ports., this morning rescued seven who were half-dead from exposure.
