AUSTRIAN VOTE
ON THE MONARCHY New Military Head (Aus. & N.Z- Cable Assn.) (Received October IS,. 7-30 p.m.) VIENNA,. October 17. The . Austn'ian Chancellor, Dr. Kurt Von Schusehnigg, ha.s. announced that Austria will hold a plebiscite on the restoration of the Monarchy, at tho proper time. He added that the Legitimist movement was legal. He had not promised Germany that he wou’cl not pMfrmit the restoration of the Hapsburgs. This was purely an interna' matter. The Chancellor stated that no devaluation of the Austrian schilling was contemplated. Dr. . Sclmschnigg thanked Prince Starhemberg and the H'ejmwehr fotheir assistance in the rebuilding of Austria, hut he: at the same time dnlivcred another blow to Pr’nce Starhemberg in announcing that General Baa.renfels was resigning Ihe cornman,] of the miliifc’a in which rhe Heimwehr has 'boen. merged, and thn' ho would bo replaced by Field Alarshal Hulgerth..
