(Our Own Correspondent). REEFTON, October 15. The half-yearly inmit'ing of the council of lire Wes! Coast Federation of Women’s Institutes will take place in Reefton at the Criterion Theatre tomorrow. The; southern delegates' will arrive bv the morning train, lhe morining session .wiil'l commence at 10.30. There -are no remits to be cons (lered,. so that there should not be a great dual of business to l’-c discussed. The afternoon will be devoted to a social. The delegates for Greymouth and south leave by the evening train. Tho, Hoeft on Boxing Association will hold an open, novice, anj schoolboy tournament, in th.ci Gymnasium Hall on Saturday night, and from present indications, it should be the most successful ever held in Reefton. Entries have been received from \\ ft’uta. Inangahua Junction, Westport) Wallsend. in addition to a large number from Reefton, so Hint boxing fans are assured of a good night’s entertainment. An interesting feature wi'l be the spocml bout. X. Thurlow (Westport) v. T. Hogarth (Dobson). The last time these two men mot. Hogarth received the! decision; and s’nee then Thurlow has gone 'in for a special course of training, and he contends that he is .in better form and is sure to reverse the judge’s: p'ae’ng. Anyhow. the,, patrons can be sure of seeing a. genu'ne contest. An old time dance was held in the Band Room last night by the Reef!on Women’s Institute, and 'it was well attended, despite counter attractions. Mrs 'Eklund supplied excellent muse, and Mr Honey was M.C. During the evening, it was announced that next week them wouhl be a “Back to Childhood Dance ’’ The Reefton Tennis Club will oftlcia n lv open the season on Saturday afternoon at their court; and issue •" cordial invitation to all to be present. Afternoon tea will be prov ded, and should the weather prove favourable a splendid afternoon’s amusement can be guaranteed to all tennis players.
