ELDERLY MOTOR CYCLIST

KILLED IN COLLISION. AUCKLAND, October 15. Thrown twelve feet, when his motor cycle was involved in a collision with a motor lorry on the Great South Hoad, four miles south of Mercer tonight, Janies Shears, aged 66, married, of Ponsonby, suffered fatal injuries. The accident occured on a short stretch of road, between two bends. Shears was returning to Auckland from Paeroa, and' he came into collission with a. motor lorry, which was travelling in t'Jie opposite direction. The rider was thrown heavily, and suffered head injuries, and his right leg was broken in two places.

His death occurred shortly afterwards
