HOSPITAL BOARD’S COOL REQUEST. (Per Press Association). DANNEVIRKE, October 14. At the September meeting of the Dannevirke Hospital Board, an intimation was received from the General Manager of the Government Life Office, thoi his board was unable to entertain the Hospital Board’s application for a. building loan of £25,000. This caused the Board’s Chauman to comment that the Department would not lend money at- .31 per cent., which, he considered, was inconsistent with the Government’s policy. On his motion, it was decided to take the matter up wi'-h the Prime Minister and the Minister of Finance. This he did, but received no satisfaction. The Prime Minister’s reply simply intimated that he was referring the matter to the Minister of Finance, who was in charge of the Department. Hon. W.
