OVER TEN MILLIONS
SWISS DEFENCE VOTE. (Aus.& N.Z. Cable Assn.) BERNE, October 12. Parliament unanimously passed the rearmament measures, involving an expenditure- of ten and a-half millions sterling, to safeguard Switzerland against sudden attack. The plan includes the increasing of the present six divisions to nine, the formation of a special frontier protection brigade for defence during mobilisation, and also a large number of machine guns and the creation of light mechanised units. .The programme follows the replenishment of munitions and heavy artillery, costing ten millions, which was approved last year.
