INDUSTRIAL EFFICIENCY
BILL TO BE PASSED THIS SESSION (Per Press Association). WELLINGTON. October 13. The Government held a caucus todav. It was decided that the industrial Efficiency Bill should be passed this session with amendments. Subsecpiently a deputation, representing all of the Manufacturing Associations in the Dominbn, waited on Hon. D. G. Sullivan. Tl.e proceedings were private. The Minister said afterwards that, while if had not been pcssible for him to make all of the amendments which the manufacturers had asked for, a complete agreement was reached on vital matters. Each of the Associations had pledged itself to give its whole-hearted support to the measure.
Strong Support of Bill DOMINION MANUFACTURERS’ CONFERENCE. WELLINGTON. October 13. The conference of manufacturers carried the fo’lowing notion after it had interviewed the Minister of Industries and Commeret, Hon. I). G. Sullivan, and been infti'iiiod that the Government intends to proceed with the Industra! Efficiency Bill: “That, after a full and thoroigh consideration of the Indii'trial efficiency Bill, and after hearing reports from general meetings of the inmufacturers in the four centres, and after ’earning from the Min'ster that the Government has decided to incorporate eerta’n important anienTments in the Bill, this spriwal repnsentative conference of flu> New Zealand manufacturers, now p'cilges Itself to support the BUI. and it reeoinninils the manufacturers throughout th; Dominion to aceclpt the measure with full confidence. as being one d.'vised to proniiOte the best interest) of those engaged 'n the maiuifaetu’ing 'industries and the interests of ;lie community as- a whole. AVeT'ington Chambbi of Commerce to-night unaWmously resolved; “This chamber strongly supports all efforts towards delaying thj passage of the Industrial Fffic:ency Bill until the ceuutrv has had aim’o t'me to consider all its implications. ”
