The result was a. three to one majority’ for the Government. To-morrow, at 10.30 a.in., the Board will take its last bow. and on Tuesdav abolition conies into effect. Mr F. T. M. K'sscll, Chief E’ectrical Engineer of the Public Works De partment i s at present in Invercargill for th? winding-up of the Board. An Order-in-Couneil fix ng October 13 as the date for the abolition of the Southland Power Board was passed by the Executive Council on October 9.
