ANCIENT NEW GUINEA
EXPLORATION VENTURE. DUTCH AND ENGLISH. (Received August 12. 9.30 p.m.) LONDON, August 12. In. connection with the Anglo-Dutch plans for the exploration of New Guinea, where the mummified remains of earlier inhabitants were recently discovered in a cave, the Dutch expedition is being prepared. The Amsterdam correspondent of the “Daily Telegraph’’ says: Captain Van Stev ennich, a pilot from the Dutch Army, will lead the expedition to chart onethird of Dutch New Guinea from the air. The expedition comprises twentyfive Europeans, and twenty-five natives. Three De Havilland planes will fly from England in September.
