AGAINST WAR

A Demonstration AUCKLAND PROCESSION. (Per Prp«s A uti.-n-AUCKLAND, August 1. There was an anti-war demonstration, preceded by a torchlight procession, through the city streets to-night. It took place in the domain. The procession, according to banners that were carried, renresented a number of the trades unions, workers’ organisations, and Communists. Nine speakers addressed the gathering in the domain and several resolutions against war were carried. The procession was led by the City Boys’ Band. Numerous flaming torches were held aloft, and made a striking spectacle. Men, women and children took part. In tho course of ’ the march, an avowedly Communist section of the procession sang, “The Red Flag” from time to time, and shouted anti-capital-ist slogans.
