The British Women’s Golf Championship was played at Newcastle, County Down, Northern Ireland.. In the first qualifying round Miss Diana Fishwick leads with 75, a women’s record for the course.

Gloucestershire v. Lancashire: Gloucestershire—First innings 163 (Booth 7 for 59), second innings 260; Lancashire —First innings’ 341 (Washbrook 92, Paynter not out 73), second innings two for 84. Lancashire won by eight wickets.
Oxford v. Yorkshire: Oxford. —First innings 192 (Smailes 5 for 46), second innings 202 (R. Kimpton 84); Yorkshire—First innings 453 (Leyland 125). Yorkshire won by innings and 59 runs.
Nottinghamshire v. Cambridge.— Nottinghamshire—First innings 345 (A. Staples 125, Parker 5 for 75), second innings 249 (Rought seven for 100); Cambridge—First innings 405 (Bartlell 183). The match, was drawn.
