VOTE ON EMBARGO. (Per Press Association). AUCKLAND, May 24. A motion in favour of lifting the embargo on the direct importation, of live stock from Great Britain, was defeated by one vote at the annual conference of the Auckland Provincial. Council of the Agricultural and Pas toral Associations. The voting was: For 5; against G. Six members did not vote. Two members, the President, Mr S. Austin Carr (Auckland) and Mr C. P. Butler (Whangarei) explained hat they voted against the motion in their capacity as delegates of their Associations, although personally they were in favour of the lifting of the embargo.
