SYDNEY WORKMAN. FIND OF SOVEREIGNS. (Aus. and N.Z Cable Assn.) (Received Mav 8 at 9.40 p.m.) SYDNEY, May 8. While a gang of workmen were excavating beneath an old iron fence at Centennial Park to-day, one man drove his pick into a rusty tin, scattering from it at least forty sovereigns of the 1900 period.
The man’s exclamation of joy brought his mates to the scene, and all work was held up white the locality was scoured for coins.
