(Received October 8 at 10 p.m.) LONDON, October 8. “The Times’s’’ Angora correspondent says: It appears that the French have sought permission fo r the Canard and Guepard to visit bof.h Istanbul and Smyrna. Turkey granted the former, but refused the latter request Admiral Pi vet, the commander of the French destrfoyer flotilla, however, was not aware of the refusal of the request for a Smyrna visit.
