PLAYED DOUBLE GAME. (Received October 8 at 7 p.m.) LONDON, October 7. The “Paily Telegraph’s” Madrid correspondent isays: “Companyo l was apparently playing a double game, but he himself was deceived by Baitet who, when asked to assist, said that he required an hour in which to consider the decision. Batet utilised the hour to muster all of the Government forces with which he was victorious. Meanwhile Companyo broadcast news ithat* all Spain had risen against Premier Lerroux. Two- hundred of the Civil Guards, using bombs, afterwards captured the Barcelona Wireless Station and prevented the spread of these tendemtial reports.

"Long live the Federal Re,pubic I” Samr then shot the Lieutenant dead.
