Greensla.de. i C S I’he Secretary presented the repents of the Ranger. Guide .-.nd Brownie Companies, comments being made upon their satisfactory nature. AFrs Kitchinghani addressed the meeting, stressing the need for guiders - —particularly in the country districts. Mis White presented the following annual report:—The outstanding event of the year was undoubtedly the cam]) which was held under the command of Mrs Trail, at. Gladstone, in February. This was an unqualified success thanks to the untiring efforts of the ••nd we have also to thank interested friends, including several residents o f ‘ Gladstone, who so kindly helped i’’ various ways. We were glad to wpJ come Miss Herrick, the new Chief Commissioner for New Zealand both guides and guiders receiving fresh inspiration from her visit. One result however, waG distilnc't’v unfortunate

from our point of view, as while ir Westland, Miss Herrick came in con tact with Miss Marie Iles, with the result that we lost this popular office 1 * ?arly in 'the New Year, and she is now rery capably filling the role of Secre tai’y at Headquarters i n Hastings where we wish her every success am 1 happiness. We regretfully panted with our Brown Owl. Mrs H. Hutchinson, who moved to Karamea, where she is carrying on her good work. The year has been successful financially, ow most pressing need being for more pub lie interest, and particularly for more helpers to train as guiders to assist our present officers who are sadly overworked Our best thanks are due to them, for their devoited work with Rangers, Guides and Brownies. Wo wish to thank also, Association members, members and friends, and the Press for assistance during the year. Airs Ki'tchingham tendered her resignation as District Commissioner. AFrs Kilgour, Airs Chalk and Miss Harker expressed appreciation of her work in connection with the Guides, and itheir regret that she had found it necessary to resign. Her resignation was accepted with regret. The election of officers resulted:— President, Mrs F. A. Kitchingham; A”i co-President, Airs C. C’. Mosley; Secretary. Airs S. F. White; Committee Mesdames A. H. Wilde. C. H. Lindsay, A. Kilgour. C. TiUeyshort. F. Congreve. W. Alowatt, J. At. Bunit and J W. Greenslade. Votes of thanks were passed to the retiring President (Mrs Wilde), for her good work during the past year. AFrs Kitchingham for the afternoon tea provided by her. and to the Press.
