(Our Own Cur respondent >. The Brunner Defence Rifle Club opened the season in dull weather on September 3<>Tli with a Presidents ver sus Vice-President’s match. The Presidents team won by eleven points. The following were the scores. PRESIDENTS.
Total 344 A meeting of St, Saviours’ Ladies Guild was held in Wallsend on Monday evening. Airs R. R. Sm.th presiding over good aittendance of members b was derided to run some competition in aid of the St. Savour.-’ Church Repair Fund. Arrangements for a shop-day to be he’d in Taylorville on Saturday. October 6th. were finalised. The winners of the euchre tournament held in ’the Taylorville School on Alonda v evening by the School Committee were: AFr. Al. AfcDonaM. Air J Blance, and Air C. Bateman. The Taylorville Tennis Club held a meeting ah the Schoo’, on Alondav evening. The successful tenderer for the laying down of the Taylorville tennis court in colas was Air J. Grant. The winner of the cake competition conducted by the Tennis Club, was “Sticker” Stillwater, No 715, (Mrs C. Smith) AFr D. Cummings. Waf.send. who has been receiving (treatment in the Grey River Hospital has returned home. Al r Kennedy Wellington, is visiting his parents, AFr and AFrs D. Kennedy. Taylorville. Dr A W. Wilkinson, who has been on a motor tour of the North Island, and Hastings returned home last evening
