NEW REMEDY NEEDED. (Per Press Association.) AVATPUKUKAU, August 21. At last night’s meeting the Waipukurau Borough Council, on the motion of the Deputy-Alayor (Councillor J. AlcCarthy), seconded by Councillor J. L. Braithwaite, unanimously supported a resolution passed by Temuka citizens favouring a conference to discuss a national scheme for the promoting of remunerative civil employment. A further motion moved by the Mayor (Air I. W. N. Mackie) was also unanimously carried, supporting a protest by the Westport Borqugh Council against the extended life* of Parliament and urging an election* at the end of the prescribed three-ydar I term i
