The Supreme Court opened before Mr Justice Reed, who addressed the Grand Jury on the four criminal cases for trial, a charge of murder against John Dillon Corrigan, who allegedly shot his parents dead near Eketahuna on March 28; Bernard McMahon, alleged indecent assault on child; Charles Frederick Ammon, alleged theft of totalisator tickets or money obtained therefrom; Burton Charles Waldegrave, alleged negligent driving of a car, thereby causing the death of a woman passenger. WELLINGTON, May 2. The Supreme Court sessions opened before the Chief Justice (Sir Michael Myers) to-day. He said that crime in the district had been much the same as previously. Breaking and entering seemed to ■be the most prevalent offence in the community.
