“AUSSIE” ARRESTED.
For Shooting a Bird. NEAR A LORD’S ESTATE. (Received December 10 at 7.50 p.m.) LQNDON, December 10. While journeying in a motor car from Dundee, southward, T. B. Guest, described as holding an important position in Melbourne, indulged in a little illegitimate shooting in passing Lord Pcnohyn’s estate, at Bettswycoer. Guest was arrested for shooting a bird. He pleaded he had a gun license and believed he had the right to shoot game from the highway. Guest’s solicitor told the Magistrate that rabbit shooting was encouraged in Australia. It would be a pity if he returned home branded as a poacher. The Magistrate accepted the plea of ignorance, and fined Guest £1 and costs.
