INTERESTING COURT DECISION. HAMILTON, Deeembtr JO. Insurance companies, according to a judgment given by Mr Justice Blair to-day, are liable for claims after accepting a small transfer fee, ‘- ven if the premium is unpaid. On this ground jjudgment was given for Arthur William Overall, a Manaku farmer, agtdnst the Victoria Insurance Company. The full amount of the claim was £4BO. Ovefajr’iceeived property from the mortgagee, Mrs Helen Warren, and paid 2/6 transfer lie uiii an insurance policy, believing the premium bad been paid. ~ The Judge summing up, said the company in accepting the transfer foe lulled Overall into the belief that his premises were insured. This remained. the position till two days after the fire, whbn the agents were informed that Overall’s premium was unpaid.
